The UK Government has cut 5p from fuel duty to ease inflationary pressures on motorists, but, this simply isn’t enough. People use their cars to get to work and the cost of communting has gone through the roof. Business owners are not raising wages anytime soon to compensate for this, so, it is for the Government to lower fuel prices and that can be achieved by cutting VAT. Cutting VAT to 10% would save the consumer 20p per litre and that would lead to lower inflation.
