The fastest way for me to reduce my electricity bill is to install solar panels on my roof. I can easily accomodate a 3KW system and I’ve costed the install at a total of just over £4,000. Now, it’s unconfirmed, but it appears as if Liz Truss is going to subsidise my energy bills for the next eighteen months to the tune of £4,483. That cash will be gifted to rich energy companies whose parent companies are making in excess of 1,000% profits. But, I’ve got a better idea. Give me a voucher for £4,483 and I’ll get myself the solar install. That will reduce MY demand on the National Grid, it will save ME money on my energy bills for the next twenty years and it’s the fastest way to solve MY problem. Just one problem for the Tories, there’s very little Corporate profit to be had, so, it’ll never happen.
Bear in mind, that you will only be able to use about 30% of the the panel output yourself, unless you have battery storage.
